Well, so much for updating regularly…
In the last post we looked at the art process of the game and in this one I’ll take you back even further with some screenshots of the game before we had a real artist.
Zircuits was inspired by a diagram my (then) six-year-old son drew of numbers in a circle connected to relational operators (greater, less, equal). My first thought was, “I could make a game out of that”. So I spent about three hours that night putting together a buggy gameplay prototype, which I tested on my wife. It seemed like there might be a game in there somewhere, so it just needed a name.
At this point, I was pretty convinced that I could handle the art myself – after all, look at this title screen! So I showed it to my designer friend, who scribbled lots of great ideas onto a napkin, which I still have… somewhere.
So here we are a year later, and I think the game is looking a lot better.
What do you think?
